Sigiriya

Polonnaruwa

Attend a Polonnaruwa city tour. The second capital of Sri Lanka is Polonnaruwa. It is a world historic site that was constructed in the 11th and 12th centuries AD.The greatest known gathering of Asian elephants is said to take place at Minneriya Jeep Safari in Minneriya National Park. Within a few square kilometers of the Minneriya Tank, a park with an area of 8,890 hectares is home to herds of up to 350 elephants during this season. Up to 700 elephants may exist, according to some reports. Wild elephants move from Wasgamuwa National Park to Minneriya National Park every year during the dry season in August and September in search of food and refuge.

 Udawalawa

Udawalawe has grasslands and is one of Sri Lanka’s wildlife sanctuaries. Many wild animals, birds, and reptiles call Udawalawe National Park home. This sanctuary is home to many water birds and elephants. Udawalawe National Park, located 200 kilometres from Colombo, spans over thirty thousand hectares and offers a variety of activities. At this location, you can go on open safaris and trek in a few areas. Except for the rain, the climate in this park is consistent throughout the year. Many shrubs and trees cover the majority of the forest and grassland, and the area is rich in vegetation and wildlife.

Bundala National Park in Sri Lanka is an internationally important wintering ground for migratory water birds.
